Indiana Evictions and Foreclosure Dashboard

The Polis Center, drawing on its expertise in research and data analysis, has created a user-friendly online tool to help people in Indiana understand evictions and their impact on communities. By sharing real stories alongside data, the center hopes to raise awareness and empower local communities to make positive changes. The tool allows users to explore eviction and foreclosure trends across different areas of Indiana and to see how these relate to factors like income and housing. To make sure the tool met the needs of various groups, the center gathered input from academics, legal experts, media organizations, and nonprofits.

To gather accurate data, The Polis Center collaborated with the Indiana Supreme Court, setting up a system to keep the information up-to-date. Additionally, they used a tool called the Foreclosure and Eviction Analysis Tool (FEAT) from New America, which focuses on fairness and equality in its research. By using these tools and partnerships, The Polis Center hopes to provide valuable insights into eviction trends and help communities take action to address this issue.
